Coach Charlie grew up in the Atlanta area playing any sport that he could. In high school he ran track and cross country, wrestled, and played soccer. After college, he taught tenth grade math and coached the JV soccer team and eighth grade wresting team. In an attempt to get back in shape after his kids were born, he started competing in triathlons and completed numerous sprint triathlons in the Atlanta area. After seeing their dad compete, his kids (Charles and Kathryn) became interested in triathlons. Coach Charlie has been the Tri Stars head run coach since the program started in 2015. Also, his kids have been part of the Tri Stars team since 2015.
