The Atlanta-based Tri Stars kids triathlon training program started in 2015. In 2019, the ATL Tri Stars will practice three days/week from May 14 - September 15. Monthly membership fees are available and you can join or drop out at any time during this period. The target age for the program is 6 to 15 years old. The minimum requirements are that each participant must be able to swim one lap in the pool unassisted (any stroke). Also, each participant must be able to ride a bike without training wheels.

Workouts prepared by USA Triathlon Level 1 Youth and Junior certified coach
8:1 maximum kids to coach ratio

HOW FAR IS A KIDS TRIATHLON?
SWIM – between 50 meters to 300 meter depending on age and specific race
BIKE – between 2-miles to 8-miles depending on age and specific race
RUN – between ¼-mile to 2-mile depending on age and specific race
SWIM PRACTICES - SUNDAY from 5:00-6:00 PM
Swim sessions will work on speed, endurance, form (drills), and race specific skills (snake swimming and passing).
BIKE PRACTICES - TUESDAY from 5:45-6:45 PM
Bike sessions will work on speed, endurance, and technique (braking, shifting, climbing hills).
RUN PRACTICES - THURSDAY from 5:45-6:45 PM
Run sessions will work on speed, endurance, and ABCs (agility, balance, and coordination).
Transitions will be practiced at bike sessions. Also, monthly performance benchmark testing will be performed to measure progress.
